The Polymer Tech Expo is open to university students with an interest in technology, artificial intelligence, coding, quantitative finance, data analytics, or related fields. Students in their second year of study and above are eligible to participate. We welcome applications from both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and there are no restrictions based on nationality or country of study – international students are encouraged to apply as well.
Do I need prior work experience to apply?
No. We welcome students from all backgrounds and experience levels. We are interested in your curiosity, creativity, problem-solving ability, and passion for technology.
Can I apply if I am not studying Computer Science?
Absolutely. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome, particularly those with an interest in technology, AI, quantitative finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related areas.
What are the application requirements?
A video presentation (maximum of 7 minutes) and a project write-up summary (maximum 1 page). The video should cover both the introduction and project demonstration sections outlined in the application guide.
Does my AI project need to be fully finished?
No. We are looking to understand your thought process, creativity, AI application, and ability to explain your work. A workable prototype or proof of concept is acceptable.
Can I use existing AI tools to build my project?
Yes. You may use publicly available AI tools, models, and platforms. However, you should clearly explain how AI was used and what value it adds to your solution.
Can I submit a group project?
No, unfortunately, this will be on an individual basis.
Can I use slides or screen sharing in my video?
Yes. Students are encouraged to use demonstrations, visuals, screenshots, slides, or screen sharing to explain their project effectively.
How long should the video be?
The maximum video length is 7 minutes. We recommend keeping it concise and focused.
How should I name my files?
Please upload both files with the following naming using your legal name (you may bracket your preferred names): FirstName_LastName_University.
What happens after I submit my application?
Selected candidates will be invited to attend the Polymer Tech Expo, where they will participate in networking opportunities, interactive showcases, and interviews with Polymer professionals. We hope to reach out to our selected students by the end of August 2026.
Are there internship opportunities available?
Yes. Outstanding participants may be considered for summer internship positions, with over 20 opportunities available.
Will I receive feedback on my submission?
Due to the expected volume of applications, individual feedback may not be provided. However, all submissions will be carefully reviewed by the selection panel.
