How can I be part of this?

Two submissions to get started

Please make a video submission and a project write-up summary to the provided link by 7 August, 2026.

Video submission(up to 7 minutes)

Your video should include both Part 1 and Part 2 outlined below.

Part 1: Self-introduction

  1. Who are you: What’s your one-line personal branding?
  2. Tech savviness & soft skills: How has AI impacted your growth and learning experience?
  3. Fun fact about you.
  4. Career aspiration: What do you hope to gain from a summer internship?

Part 2: Project demonstration

Walk us through an AI-powered tool or solution that addresses a real-world challenge. Please cover the following areas:

  1. What you have built.
  2. How it works.
  3. How AI was used – AI coding tools used, system prompts (with examples), and the back-end LLM API used in the project.
  4. Iterations / reflections – What worked well, and what would you improve given more time?

Project write-up summary(1-page PDF)

Your write-up should provide a concise summary of the project presented in your video and cover the following areas:

Problem statement

What challenge or opportunity does your solution address?

AI tool overview

What did you build and how does it work?

Use of AI

How was AI incorporated into the solution?

Impact & value

How could the solution benefit users or solve the problem?

Iterations / reflections

Key learnings, challenges encountered, and potential future enhancements.

Formatting guidelines

  • Maximum 1 page.
  • Submit in PDF format.
  • Minimum font size: 11-point.
  • Diagrams, screenshots, and visuals are welcome, provided all content remains within the one-page limit.

If you are selected to attend the Technology Exposition on 10 September 2026, please come prepared to walk us through your project in more detail. We encourage you to bring your source code, project materials, and any other supporting information that may help demonstrate your work.

Outstanding participants will be considered for a Summer Internship opportunity in our Hong Kong office, with up to 20 positions available. In addition, the top 5 candidates who submit the most creative videos will each receive a special prize.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?

The Polymer Tech Expo is open to university students with an interest in technology, artificial intelligence, coding, quantitative finance, data analytics, or related fields. Students in their second year of study and above are eligible to participate. We welcome applications from both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and there are no restrictions based on nationality or country of study – international students are encouraged to apply as well.

Do I need prior work experience to apply?

No. We welcome students from all backgrounds and experience levels. We are interested in your curiosity, creativity, problem-solving ability, and passion for technology.

Can I apply if I am not studying Computer Science?

Absolutely. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome, particularly those with an interest in technology, AI, quantitative finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related areas.

What are the application requirements?

A video presentation (maximum of 7 minutes) and a project write-up summary (maximum 1 page). The video should cover both the introduction and project demonstration sections outlined in the application guide.

Does my AI project need to be fully finished?

No. We are looking to understand your thought process, creativity, AI application, and ability to explain your work. A workable prototype or proof of concept is acceptable.

Can I use existing AI tools to build my project?

Yes. You may use publicly available AI tools, models, and platforms. However, you should clearly explain how AI was used and what value it adds to your solution.

Can I submit a group project?

No, unfortunately, this will be on an individual basis.

Can I use slides or screen sharing in my video?

Yes. Students are encouraged to use demonstrations, visuals, screenshots, slides, or screen sharing to explain their project effectively.

How long should the video be?

The maximum video length is 7 minutes. We recommend keeping it concise and focused.

How should I name my files?

Please upload both files with the following naming using your legal name (you may bracket your preferred names): FirstName_LastName_University.

What happens after I submit my application?

Selected candidates will be invited to attend the Polymer Tech Expo, where they will participate in networking opportunities, interactive showcases, and interviews with Polymer professionals. We hope to reach out to our selected students by the end of August 2026.

Are there internship opportunities available?

Yes. Outstanding participants may be considered for summer internship positions, with over 20 opportunities available.

Will I receive feedback on my submission?

Due to the expected volume of applications, individual feedback may not be provided. However, all submissions will be carefully reviewed by the selection panel.
